Happy Kwanzaa Folks!!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas! As you may know this is the last week of 2010. It has been a long time coming and guess what you made it through the year! I pray that next year will be a great time for you. But I come to give you some advice on how to change your new year for the best. We all make new year resolutions if you want to admit it or not. But we all need to know how can we stick to them. I think the best advice I can give you is: TAKE LIFE SECOND BY SECOND. I say that because sometimes we try to rush things and they don't end up like we imagined them. As people we also want to turn over a new leaf but in order to do that you must try to fight temptation, second by second. By that I mean do everything second by second. For example if you want to stop smoking or stop doing drugs count your steps by seconds. Once you do that seconds turn into minutes and they turn into hours and then they turn into days then days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months then months turn into years. Also in order for you to be set free from something then you must know the truth because remember "The truth sets you free." So lets start 2011 off with a bang! God bless and remember the first principle of Kwanzaa is UNITY!

Being free

Earlier this week I was sadden by the death of Elizabeth Edwards. She was a great women who worked for the interest of all Americans. She was a great progressive behind-the-scenes leader. She was the wife to a former presidential and vice presidential candidate, John Edwards. But most likely the best virtue about her was that she knew everything about being free. She faced great adversity in her life and that taught her the meaning of freedom and how to be humble. She knew that her husband cheating on her would make her a independent women who was free. She also accepted the truth in that situation. Being free means knowing the truth and as long as you know the truth you will be a free soul.

I would like to end this post with some inspiration for you: Lets all be like Elizabeth Edwards a free, truth knowing, lovable, humble, and behind the scenes leader.

Confessions

Yeap thats right I have 3 confessions for my readers:

1. I really LOVE Jesus!

2. I care for everyone I come in contact with and I wish them well!

3. I really like this girl but the problem is that she already has a man.

Something to get you through your week!

Midterms

Man this was a tough year for democrats. We lost control of the house of representatives and lost six democratic Senators. One reason why this happened was because only 4.7% of black people voted. Now come on people if you don't vote, you don't count. You can't have a voice, if what all you do is sit back and complain. I live in the state of GA and not one Democrat was voted in a statewide government position. Now this is a mess waiting to happen. That means that there are no checks and balances in place. If all three branches of the state government of Georgia are ruled by republicans then that means republicans can put any kind of law in place. So I am calling on all the people of GA to vote in 2012 to put some checks and balances in place so we can save the state of Georgia. And for the People of the United States, in 2012 we have a simple choice to make, to let republicans take full control of the govt. and let them defeat our President Obama who is moving us forward or to let them take us back 50 years in time . Prop 8-Prop Hate

The biggest news of today was not Barack Obama's birthday, or the President of Iran's assassination attempt but the overturn of the ban on Prop 8 which restricted Gay people in California to be married. Right now I sit in a tizzy because i truly don't know where I should stand on this issue. I have always said that a gay partner should have the right to see the other in the hospital when they are dying. And I have always supported legislation that list gay discrimination as a hate crime. But my biblical up bringing tells me that marriage is strictly between a man and a woman. The bible also mentions that a whole town was destroyed because there were some gay men in the town. But that was the old testament and the new one says "to do unto others, as you would want to be done unto you" (I'm paraphrasing) so does that mean to give gay people the right to marry just like I can marry a women? Also gay people don't go to the polls and vote not to let straight people marry but straight people go to the polls and discriminate and vote not to let gay couples marry. But I do think i have one position on this issue. The judge who ruled the case said that the ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional, now that is true! Because in the 14th amendment it says that everyone should have the same liberty as others. So that does mean that gay marriage is legal by the Constitution. But by the Bible's standards its not "moral". But do remember one thing GOD IS A GOD OF LOVE. So if two men or two women love each other, then let it BE.

Igualdad, justicia y servicio.

If you don't know by know I'm a democrat. I believe in what we(the democratic party) stands for Equality, Justice, and Serving the people of America(this was not taken from the democratic part's website). I'm going to explain the three things we believe in today. First Equality we believe that Gay AMERICANS should have the same right as regular people to visit each other in the hospital when one of their partners are dying. We also believe that all men are created equal(taken from the constitution) because a rich man should not get a higher tax cut than a poor man. I don't even know if that terminology makes sense but republicans do. We also believe that just because a man is richer than other people that he should be treated different. We believe that justice should be served when a law allows racial profiling and discriminatory acts. We served justice to black people with the civil rights act and we are serving Justice for Latinos by boycotting the state of Arizona. We believe in justice when a teenager is shot and killed in Chicago just because a gun was placed in the wrong hands. That's why we want to perfect the 2nd amendment by changing it so a college students does not kill 23 people. Last but not least we stand for serving others by giving health care to those who can afford it or have been denied because of a pre-existing condition. We believe in serving others by following Jesus' true commandment by serving the least of those by helping elderly with medicare and helping the poor with welfare. We are the Democratic Party and we are going to win in 2010! :)

Sarah Palin is Racist?

I just wanted to grab your attention with that name. But seriously is Sarah Palin racist for supporting Arizona's new law against Illegal Immigration? I'm sure we all have heard about Arizona's new law but if you have not here is what it is about. This law allows police and local law enforcement to pull over someone and put them in jail if they do not have documents to show they are a American Citizen. So this law is RACIAL PROFILING. I also wish that we would stop dancing around the bush and just say it! Because its just like what they did to black people since we were given freedom. Its like giving white people 3 marbles to guess so they can vote but giving black people 123 marbles so they can vote, just because the color of their SKIN. Let me give you a scenario of how you could be affected by this law. Okay, so say you are in Arizona on vacation and its a Friday evening you left your passport and wallet at the hotel and you want to walk the street. But suddenly the police pull you over and ask for documents but then remembering you forgot your wallet at the hotel you tell the officer and they do not believe it. So you are taken to jail and cannot get a judge till Monday and your hotel room is cleaned out wallet and all. So now what will you do? So I ask every single one of you reading this blog to PLEASE CANCEL ANY HOTEL, FLIGHTS, AND VACATIONS PLANNED FOR ARIZONA. Even if you have a flight that is stoped in Arizona to go somewhere else, CANCEL IT. Lets boycott the state of Arizona and show them they are wrong.

YES WE CAN have healthcare.

Yesterday at around 11 pm the most recent major legislation passed in the house. This was a bill hat would give health care to everybody. No, there is no public/government option but it does require that over 80% of Americans have health insurance. Each part of the bill goes into effect every 6 months to a year. The whole bill will be into full effect January 1, 2014. So let me break down the major parts of the bill. First, all Children/dependents can/will get to stay on their parents health insurance until they are 26 years old. So that means when you are a college student and you get sick your parents coverage will cover you. Second, a insurance company cannot deny you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition like breast cancer or HIV(they would deny you because the treatment would cost a lot of money). Third, a insurance company cannot cancel your coverage because you find out you have a disease/illness like cancer or HIV. Fourth, it requires over 80% of Americans to have health insurance so that you can afford treatment when you become sick.

Who is to BLAME.

The death of Nicholas Sheffey was a great tragedy to my school's community. I knew the brother of Nick and i have been explained the WHOLE situation of why Nick has died. But I'm not going to get into that, i am more interested in how we can stop things like these from happening. First and foremost Nick Sheffey was killed by a GUN. So guess what GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE and since we can get rid of people we get rid of the gun. The gun is protected under the 2nd amendment and i want to get rid of that thing. we need to claim a war against guns. So you ask how can we claim "war" against a object that helps you win a war? Its easy the answer is to start a peaceful one, First we start holding peace vigils and prayer vigils for people to start changing their hearts and to turn in their guns. Then we start sending emails and letters to the president and congressman to change the 2nd amendment to put away guns ( our president Barack Obama was a senator for Chicago in which 2007 20 Teenagers died in one summer from a gun). Then we start going to the ghettos and start offering helps for gangsters and thugs and criminals to turn their guns in and through it all we will have God leading us and helping us.

P.S. I don't think one preacher will disagree saying Jesus approved guns.

Medal of Honor

I give the Medal of Honor to everyone who has acne. Yeah you heard right, not only do i give them the medal of honor but i also believe we are the BRAVEST people on earth. Everyday we get up and see ourselves in the mirror as we have acne on our face and we have to go out into the world and face People. I don't know if you know it or not but HUMANS/PEOPLE are the most judgist beings on earth. And they judge us and talk about us just because we have acne. But i would like to see them face the world with something you can not hide. To everyone who does not have acne please know that we CAN NOT do anything to get rid of our acne, and also we DO NOT want to here you SAY ANYTHING about our FACE. and Please DO NOT STARE at our FACE. Remember that we are still humans and we want to be treated that way. Last but not least don't be afraid of us, acne can not be passed from person to person(unless your parents have it).

Grandma I am going to be greater than JESUS!

Lol, imagine if you had really said that she would slap you in your face right? Well what if we really could be better than Jesus, that might just be true. Let me tell you a secret, Jesus said we can and we will be greater than him. Don't take my word for it look at the bible John 14:12 it reads "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father." Can you believe it! Jesus said we will do greater works than him. You ask How is that so? Lets just look at a few miracles/works that Jesus did and we will figure out how we can do it greater. Jesus turned water to wine, walked on water, sent power through his robe to heal a women, and last but not least he feed 5,000 men(not including women and children) with some fish and some bread(fish sticks and hush puppies if you want to be funny). So if Jesus did all that stuff how can we as Christians ,those who believe in him (look up at the scripture), do it greater than that. Let me ask you a question which is a greater work turning water into wine or turning dirty water into clean water? walking on water or traveling across oceans and lakes to save people after a disaster? Letting a women touch a powerful robe or becoming a organ donor? Last, feeding 5,000 men with some bread and fish or feeding a whole poverty struck nation? so let me ask you one more time which one is a greater work to you?
