Fashion & Politics: The Two Can Go Hand In Hand.

Hey you guys, I'm Adriana, Chad's amazing friend and guest blogger. :D I originally was supposed to write this article a while back, but better late than never, right? Well, I want to write about two things that are important to me: fashion & politics. Representing an entire district, state, or even country can be hard enough, but doing it while looking good? Now, that takes skill. The following ladies made my top three:

1) Cathy McMorris Rodgers

As a Republican representing Washington's 5th district, I automatically thought we'd have little in common. But as I dug a little deeper, I noticed our views on energy are somewhat similar. She & I both believe that we should invest more in the internal economy, especially regarding energy sources. However, I'm against the traditional use of energy sources, such as coal and nuclear energy, and more for alternative energy sources. She is for a mixed form of both. I do love how she uses contemporary colors in her outfits accentuated by sleek bold lines of white and black. In a way, this can represent her and her policies: black & white, very little grey area. I find it admiring of sorts.

2) Krisit Noem

Also a member of the GOP, South Dakota's 6th District Representative Kristi Noem takes style to another level, edgy bob and all. Our stances on abortion are slightly off (although, my stance can't be pronounced as pro choice or pro life), but we both value our veterans. I honestly don't believe they get the recognition they deserve. It takes a strong and dedicated person to step up and protect their country. Kristi's simple yet rustic flair is mature & natural.

3) Michelle Obama

Are ya'll seriously surprised by my final pick? Democrat, Republican, Independent, or not involved in politics whatsoever, everyone can admit on First Lady's grace. With an allure that has been compared to Jackie Kennedy, it's no wonder why many admire her. She is classy, yet appealing. She inspires. Her beauty alone is reason to see how she made my top three, but her dress code is an icing on the cake.

Anyways, all good things come to an end. If you need me, hit me up on here or my blog MerakiRoulette. Well, these have been my top three. Who are yours?
xo.

Happy New Year!!!

It's 2011 folks! You made it through 2010! Today I have a short blog for you , so you don't have much to read. First I wanna say that starting next week I will have several guest bloggers. The first one will be Adriana Rush a great friend of mine. I read her tumblr & she talks about some good stuff. I hope you enjoy her! The last thing I wanna say is for 2011 start living UNASHAMED. By that I mean don't be ashamed of all the good things you do & don't be ashamed to represent all the good things about you. Don't boast about the bad things you do or have done. Let the good shine from within you! Romans 1:16

Happy Kwanzaa

Happy Kwanzaa Folks!!!
I hope you all had a great Christmas! As you may know this is the last week of 2010. It has been a long time coming and guess what you made it through the year! I pray that next year will be a great time for you. But I come to give you some advice on how to change your new year for the best. We all make new year resolutions if you want to admit it or not. But we all need to know how can we stick to them. I think the best advice I can give you is: TAKE LIFE SECOND BY SECOND. I say that because sometimes we try to rush things and they don't end up like we imagined them. As people we also want to turn over a new leaf but in order to do that you must try to fight temptation, second by second. By that I mean do everything second by second. For example if you want to stop smoking or stop doing drugs count your steps by seconds. Once you do that seconds turn into minutes and they turn into hours and then they turn into days then days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months then months turn into years. Also in order for you to be set free from something then you must know the truth because remember "The truth sets you free." So lets start 2011 off with a bang! God bless and remember the first principle of Kwanzaa is UNITY!

Being free

Earlier this week I was sadden by the death of Elizabeth Edwards. She was a great women who worked for the interest of all Americans. She was a great progressive behind-the-scenes leader. She was the wife to a former presidential and vice presidential candidate, John Edwards. But most likely the best virtue about her was that she knew everything about being free. She faced great adversity in her life and that taught her the meaning of freedom and how to be humble. She knew that her husband cheating on her would make her a independent women who was free. She also accepted the truth in that situation. Being free means knowing the truth and as long as you know the truth you will be a free soul.
I would like to end this post with some inspiration for you: Lets all be like Elizabeth Edwards a free, truth knowing, lovable, humble, and behind the scenes leader.

Something to get you through your week!

Encourage yourself at all times. Don't give up, in, nor out. When you feel like throwing in the towel and quitting DON'T! Because what you have been hoping, praying, and crying for is right around the corner! And always remember: Everything good that happened GOD did it! -Chadwick Smith
